FactoryOS — Industrial Operations Experience

A factory should feel like one connected operation — not twelve software modules sharing a login.

The Problem

Industrial software is usually sold as a catalogue of modules, even though factory work is a continuous chain. That disconnect makes a capable system feel abstract: buyers see inventory, maintenance, quality, and dispatch as separate screens instead of one operating model.

The Challenge

The work needed to make a large product surface understandable without turning the website into a feature grid. I designed the product dashboard and a continuous camera journey through a miniature factory world, then paired the desktop film with accessible conventional content and lighter mobile stills. The lead pipeline also had to store every enquiry before attempting email delivery so a notification failure could never lose the record.

Experience & Delivery Architecture

The launch site is deliberately dependency-light: static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript drive a frame-locked scroll engine across neighbouring H.264 clips. An Express runtime serves the site and handles enquiries. Each submission is written as encrypted, versioned JSON to a private S3 bucket before Amazon SES sends internal and customer email. On iOS, the scrub engine manages decoder pressure, gesture-gated priming, and still-image degradation without permanently abandoning video after one rejected play call.

Results

The finished experience connects twelve operating blocks through one visual narrative, with eleven encoded films on desktop and a responsive fallback for smaller devices. The product dashboard gives the concept a tangible operational surface, while the production lead path stores submissions durably before any email side effect.

One case study, multiple shipped surfaces. Move between the SaaS dashboard, app, website, and brand work without splitting one product into duplicate projects.
